Tom Steyer’s Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer is the subject of an all-out war between Big Labor unions, after labor leaders wrote two “blistering letters” to AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka on Monday demanding Trumka cease all ties with Steyer.

At issue is Steyer’s staunch opposition to energy projects, like the Keystone XL Pipeline, that create jobs for union workers.

Here is only a partial roundup of headlines, all devastating for the politically ambitious Steyer:

Steyer seems intent to fiddle while Big Labor burns, responding with careful talking points:

“Our new unified effort will help elect progressive leaders who are committed to a just transition to a clean energy economy that will benefit working families across the nation.”
