Enviro Left Freaks Over Possible EPA Cuts, Forgets Reports of Waste

With reports that President Trump may make cuts to the budget of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Environmentalist Left is freaking out ahead of time.

The Sierra Club has retweeted a comparison of EPA and Defense Department spending:

Meanwhile, the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC)’s Rhea Suh is suggesting that Trump is “dead set on destroying the commonsense safeguards” at the EPA.

What the Environmentalist Left does not address is the multiple reports of wasteful spending at the EPA from over the years.

In October 2015, a report from nonprofit Open the Books found that the EPA has “spent over $15 million on outside public relations consultants despite employing nearly 200 full-time in house PR workers.”

Earlier in 2015, another Open the Books report found EPA had, over the prior decade, “spent a whopping $92.4 million to purchase, rent, install and store office furniture ranging from fancy hickory chairs and a hexagonal wooden table, worth thousands of dollars each, to a simple drawer to store pencils that cost $813.57.”

While the Environmentalist Left cries foul on any cuts to the agency they have used to steer policy for decades, prior reports suggest there is, indeed, waste the EPA can cut under a new administration.
