Corpus Christi Could Produce LNG Sooner Than Expected
Corpus Christi may be increasing its presence on the world stage sooner than expected. Cheniere Energy Inc.’s LNG export terminal could begin producing LNG before year’s end according to Reuters.
Speaking at a conference in Singapore, Douglas Wharton, the director origination of Cheniere Marketing in Singapore stated:
“We will hopefully start producing first LNG by this year and have made significant progress on train 3 which…we are hoping to take a final investment decision (FID) on soon.”
Some environmentalists oppose the export terminal, spreading false claims in an effort to sabotage a crucial part of the Texas economy that is estimated to bring in $6.7 billion of tax revenue for the Lone Star State over the next year. With an oil and gas revival ongoing throughout Texas and the United States, the completion of the Cheniere LNG export terminal will certainly be a boon for Corpus Christi.
