The End Is Near For Protesters In West Texas
After months of disregarding decency, spreading false claims, and supporting a violent criminal, the environmentalists protesting the Trans-Pecos pipeline are beginning to leave the Lone Star State. Protesters are soliciting out-of-state donors for bus fare to leave their West Texas camp:
Support for the protest efforts dried up after they continued to stand by one of their founders, a registered sex offender with a violent criminal past.
Local law enforcement may be particularly pleased to see the protesters leave. While the pipeline protesters sought to bully law enforcement and hurl offensive comments for keeping the peace, pipeline workers cooperated with law enforcement leading to the arrests of drug smugglers along the border, removing nearly one ton of marijuana from the street.
Prior to the sex offender scandal, these protesters had received support by large outside forces, including the support of Vladimir Putin’s propaganda arm. In spite of this, the largest energy-producing state in the nation has been able to overcome these detractors and continue to provide over 200,000 Texans with gainful employment and provide $9.4 billion in tax revenue to state and local communities each year. Perhaps these protesters should contemplate how many schools, hospitals, and public goods that are funded by that revenue during their long bus ride home.
