Britain To Ban Gas-Powered Cars


The British government announced a plan to ban the sale of all gasoline-powered cars by 2040, taking its lead from France’s government, which already rolled out a similar ban:

The government of France announced plans to end the sale of gasoline and diesel vehicles by 2040, with ecology minister Nicolas Hulot unveiling a wide range of targets and initiatives timed to coincide with the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, last week.

The British people don’t seem too keen on the EVs, as electric cars only account fro five percent of all new car registrations:

Electric cars currently account for less than 5 percent of new car registrations in Britain, with drivers concerned about the cost and limited availability of charging points and manufacturers worried about making expensive investments before the demand is there.
